We found a stash of these early model Ford Lockport machines when clearing out the inventory from the Ford factory. This listing is for a complete, and all original, Ford Gum and Machine Company display that includes the machine, spoked stand, and an authentic route operator F50 key.
The Lockport machines are uncommon and desireable which demand a more expensive pricepoint vs the Akron machines. If you budget isn't quite large enough for this premium we offer a variety of 100's of beautiful Akron machines to fit any budget. Contact us for details.
Features and options:
Machine: The machine is a rare early model Ford 1 cent gumball machine which has all metal components and is tagged with the attractive brass Lockport nametag. The early machines had the name "Lockport" on the tag and they were made with brass versus silver colored metal. Each machine is stamped with a unique serial number.
Working lock and key: The Ford F50 key is also a rare item and, if you can find them, can be very expensive. Many Ford distributors had thousands of machines on route but only needed a few keys. This makes REAL Ford keys extremely rare. Modern replicas are made but are inferior in quality. They do not unlock all F50 locks and can easily bend/break. We have a limited supply of the vintage authentic route keys from the Ford factory and include one with this machine package. We pair your authentic key with a smoothly turning lock to ensure a lifetime of easy use.
Glass Globe: These globes display the 1cent Branded For Your Protection "arrow" logo. These are not stickers or decals. Back then, they used a special process and baked it onto the glass. You can choose a unit with or without the advertisement topper. We also have various charities, civic groups, and blank toppers. Feel free to contact us if you have a preference.
We test each of our machines to ensure they vend flawlessly with pennies and install the flange onto the machine for you. When you receive the unit you simply screw the pipe into the base and then the machine onto the pipe. Our complete setups ship in two boxes to avoid risking the heavy metal stand damaging the machine or breaking the glass globe. We can only ship these within the lower 48 states and must be shipped to a physical address.
These are vintage used machines and you can clean them to your standards before using them. We clean and test each machine so they are presentable and ready to use but it is up to you with how detailed you like your machine to be. If requested, we are happy to provide photos of the exact product you will receive. You will first need to purchase a unit and message us after paying to "request photos before shipping".

Ford Gum is still in business but decided to direct their focus on chewing gum products for other industries.
